In this case, the numbers are so ridiculously close that in the end it comes down to personal choice, and this writer falls in the Ronaldo camp.
Honors: English Premier League: 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09; FA Cup: 2003-04; FA Community Shield: 2007; League Cup: 2005-06, 2008-09; UEFA Champions League: 2008-09, 2013-14; FIFA Club World Cup: 2009; La Liga: 2011-12; 2010-11, 2013-14; Spanish Super Cup: 2012
Messi is renowned for his close control, dribbling, and deadly finishing. His finishing and passing abilities were also honed by his unique role in Barcelona’s system. Messi has won it four times. His pace and strength are major factors in his game, allowing him to hold on to the ball under challenges and slip away from markers, while he also has an unusually strong heading ability for a player in his position. Ronaldo really became the goalscoring machine he is now when Ferguson allowed him a free role in his United side around 2008. Both take their respective team’s penalties, and both are the focus of the team’s attacking play.
Honors: La Liga: 2004-05, 2005-06, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2012-13; Copa del Rey: 2008-09, 2011-12; Spanish Super Cup: 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013; UEFA Champions League: 2005-06, 2008-09, 2010-11; UEFA Super Cup: 2009, 2011; FIFA Club World Cup: 2009, 2011; Olympics Football (with Argentina): 2008; FIFA U-20 World Cup (with Argentina): 2005
As far as popularity is concerned, Ronaldo’s frighteningly regular goalscoring exploits have made him one of the most popular sportspersons in the world, but Messi’s humility and easy charm has made him more likable. Guardiola converted the skimpy Argentine into a ‘false nine’, charged with nominally leading the line but regularly dropping back, creating space for his teammates due to the movement of defenders following him upfield. It is a widely held theory that the two need to win m88a or dominate a World Cup in the fashion of Maradona or Pele to be considered the best of all time.
Ronaldo is famous for his exacting fitness regimen. He leads Barcelona’s historic scoring charts in total goal scored, total competitive goals scored, total league goals scored, as well as total European goals scored.
Position: Right Winger, Left Winger, infrequently Second Striker
Cristiano Ronaldo. Though he was initially unhappy about the positioning, Messi became known as one of the world’s best young players, playing as a right winger alongside Ronaldinho. He is one of the most supreme athletes on the planet, let alone the footballing world. This led to a massive boost in his performances, and he was soon knocking down numerous scoring records.
Here’s a look at their individual careers.
His array of skills is just as famous as his physique. This is crucial in today’s hectic football calendar.
Both are known for their finishing and dribbling abilities, as well as being dead ball experts. Diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency, Messi came close to having to quit his football career because he was simply too scrawny for the game, however outrageously talented. In the same Champions League campaign, he also became the first player to score a goal in the Champions League final for two winning teams, also having scored in United’s 2008-09 win.
Ronaldo shot to fame as a precocious youngster in the famed academy setup of Sporting Clube de Portugal, known outside Portugal as Sporting Lisbon. Clubs: Sporting Lisbon (2002-2003), Manchester United (2003-2009), Real Madrid (2009-present)
As mentioned before, either Messi or Ronaldo has won the prize awarded to the best player in the world for the last six years. Though not the ideal athlete a la Ronaldo, Messi’s low height is beneficial for his style of play, as his low center of gravity allows him to change directions swiftly. He also equaled Jose Altafini’s record of scoring 14 goals in a single Champions League campaign in 2011-12.
Clubs: Barcelona (2003-present, including spells in Barcelona ‘C’ and ‘B’ teams)
Full Name: Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro
Birth: February 5, 1985, in Funchal, Madeira
The main hurdle left in the way of both players is a lack of major achievements on the international stage. However, he is remarkably ambidextrous, comfortable passing or shooting with his left foot; he has, on occasions, even taken free kicks with his left foot. The two have different attributes, different roles, and different temperaments, which makes comparing them pointless. His powerful shooting is a big part of his game, which often centers around cutting in from the left wing and shooting at goal with his right foot. Since arriving in Madrid, where he became the prime focus of the team’s attacking play, he has scored 252 goals in just 246 appearances! In just 5 seasons at Real Madrid, he has already jumped to #4 on the all-time scoring charts at Real.
Both these players are remarkably durable; Messi’s fitness was boosted through meticulous planning and attention from Guardiola, while Ronaldo is rarely ever injured. He also broke Messi and Altafini’s 14-goal record in the Champions League in 2013-14, scoring 17. He has scored 354 goals in 425 appearances and 243 league goals in 277 appearances for Barcelona’s senior team. He became the undoubted ace at Madrid, and has scored at a rate of more than a goal per game since joining the Spanish giants. Manchester United’s manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, bought Ronaldo to replace the outgoing David Beckham, and played a very influential role in his development into one of the world’s best players.
Slowly blossoming into the all-conquering superstar, Ronaldo came into his own in 2007-08, topping the Premier League scoring charts with 31 goals. He has been called “the complete player” by his former coach and mentor Sir Alex Ferguson.
Did You Know?
Ronaldo has the player rating of 92 in the popular video game FIFA 14. The next year, he scored in the Champions League Final to give Manchester United the lead against Chelsea. Messi is the highest ranked, with 94.
All statistics accurate as of June 20, 2014.
Football fans today are blessed to be enjoying an era filled with legendary players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Arjen Robben, Robin van Persie, Sergio Agüero, Yaya Touré, Gareth Bale, Neymar, Andrea Pirlo, etc. However, two names always come up in football debates as the best two players in the world right now. Ronaldo has adopted a ‘knuckleball’ technique on his freekicks, whereas Messi’s freekicks are more regulation-action; both are equally prolific on free kicks. While it’s a bit unfair, given the high number of assists Ronaldo usually registers, it is Messi who is lauded as being a team player.
As former Real manager Jose Mourinho once said, the two would undoubtedly have won ten Ballon d’Or awards each had they been born in separate eras. Since joining Madrid, Ronaldo has broken countless scoring records and has more than kept up with Messi. Breaking each other’s records comes as naturally to these two as pretending to not care about the rivalry between them.
The star of Lionel Messi came close to being extinguished before it could even light up. Between them, the two have won the last 6 Ballon d’Or / FIFA World Player of the Year / FIFA Ballon d’Or awards, underlining their supremacy over the rest of the footballing world. At least one of the two has also been part of the winning team in the UEFA Champions League for four of the last seven tournaments.
At the age of 26, he is already the record goalscorer in the history of Barcelona. It was under Pep Guardiola, though, that Messi started to achieve legendary status. His style of play and short height have drawn inevitable comparisons with Argentine legend Diego Maradona.
Position: Striker, Right Winger
Where Ronaldo’s greatness lies is having a comparable scoring ratio in spite of having played as a winger for the early part of his career, and not being the prime attacking outlet for his team for much of his career. He also holds the record of scoring the most goals in a calendar year, breaking Gerd Müller’s record of 85 by scoring a scarcely believable 91 goals in 2012. After winning the 2008-09 Champions League with United, Real Madrid came calling for the star, like they had for Beckham. He has received sprinting lessons from 100-meter World Record holder Usain Bolt. He is renowned for his free-kick taking, passing, dribbling, heading, and shooting abilities. Though he lacks the height of Ronaldo, he has an excellent heading technique, perhaps most famously seen in his goal in the 2009 Champions League Final against Ronaldo’s United. Many retired players, such as Zinedine Zidane, have praised his hard work ethic, and former professional bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger has expressed praise for Ronaldo’s physique. Fortunately for him and millions of football fans, Barcelona reached out to him in his native Argentina, and signed him up, agreeing to pay for his medication.
Under manager Frank Rijkaard, Messi played as a right winger so that he could cut in on to his stronger foot instead of having to constantly cross for his teammates. It was mainly his move to Spain to the rivals of Barcelona, Lionel Messi’s club, that has led to constant comparison between the two.
Full Name: Lionel Andrés Messi
Birth: June 24, 1987, in Rosario
Both are the undoubted stars at their respective clubs, Messi at Barcelona and Ronaldo at Real Madrid. Ronaldo and Messi occupy the footballing ionosphere, lying heads and shoulders above everyone else. Though Ronaldo has finished as a UEFA Euro runner-up and bronze medalist with Portugal and Messi has won the Olympic football tournament with Argentina, both players remain lacking in major, influential performances in the World Cup

There’s no bigger event for the casual interest bettor and we’ll have lots of cool bets for them.”
“A lot of our bettors are just ordinary guys who don’t have time to crunch numbers or study game film the way a Vegas pro does,” explains Doyle.
A season of upsets like the one gone by is good for the sportsbooks themselves – Doyle is coy on figures while readily admitting it’s been a good year for Sports Interaction – but for the causal bettor the unpredictability of the season has levelled the playing field.
“This has been a better year for the fun bettor because a lot of bets that sharps would have laughed at came in. “So what that means is that the NFL betting professionals suffered some bad beats, but the more casual interest bettors pulled off some really big coups.”

They engage in gambling activities at the cost of their time with family and friends. Due to lost mental peace, they may ill-treat their spouse and children. The greed never ends and they keep betting more and more. Some take to substance abuse to supplement the high they get from winning huge sums while gambling. The National Council of Problem Gambling (NCPG) describes this type of gambling behavior as problem gambling.
? According to the University of New York, in people with alcohol use disorders, the chances of developing an addiction to gambling are 23 times higher.
? The stress from gambling may lead to health issues like ulcers, stomach problems, muscle pains, headaches, and problems with sleep.
Initially, one looks at gambling as a way to run away from life’s problems, or from stress, anger, and loneliness. On giving a serious consideration to the negative effects of gambling, we realize that it is best avoided.
? As gambling leads to increased criminal activities, in a way, gamblers add to the burden on prisons and the legal system.
? Research has shown that gambling can lead to harmful behavior in people. The skill of a gambler lies in weighing the three parameters and making a decision about what amount should be staked and how much should be expected in return.
? According to a research by NCPG, 76 percent of problem gamblers are likely to have a major depressive disorder.
Gambling = Thoughtless Expenditure + Waste of Time
? Gambling has proven to be addictive. In the following sections of this Buzzle article, we discuss the negative effects of gambling on the individual and society.
? Gambling is practiced as a means of recreation. Forget satisfaction or peace, it is not even refreshing in the real sense. Thus, gambling can have a grave economic impact which is difficult to reverse.
? Similar to how an individual keeps consuming substances like drugs or alcohol to experience an altered mental state, he continues to gamble. Because of this, they land in worse situations and take the wrong decisions in life.
? A majority of those addicted to gambling have substance abuse disorders.
Games offered in casinos, table games like poker, Red Dog, and Blackjack, as also electronic games like Slot Machine and Video Poker are some of the common types of gambling. Card games, coin tossing, and dice-based games are some non-casino based forms of gambling. To add to the so-called merry atmosphere, gamblers often smoke or drink while playing.
Compulsive gambling leads to bankruptcy
? Gambling at the cost of one’s job results in a decline in the quality of his professional life. It soon becomes a habit that can’t be broken.
? Studies show that children with a sibling or parent addicted to gambling, are more likely to take to substance abuse.
Gambling refers to the betting of money on an event with an uncertain outcome, with the intent of winning additional wealth. Addiction to gambling, coupled with substance abuse can make the gamblers physically abusive towards their family. Over time, it becomes a habit, and eventually an obsession that can’t be overcome. The addiction leads people to continue with gambling irrespective of whether they earn or lose in the deal. Six to eight million people in America are estimated to have a gambling problem.
? Addiction to gambling has been linked with substance abuse. Some go that way to forget the sorrow of losing big sums when gambling.
? Substances of abuse are served at casinos and in pubs and clubs, thus increasing the likelihood of gamblers consuming them. The decision to gamble money is based on three parameters namely; how much to bet, the predictability of the event, and the conditions agreed upon, between the gamblers. The addiction has negative effects on one’s physical and mental health and it proves to be detrimental to one’s social, personal, and professional life. A recreational activity is supposed to be refreshing and relaxing, but something like gambling is contrary to the very purpose of recreation. The effect is similar to that of having a drug or a drink, which is why gambling changes one’s mental state and mood.
? Apart from absence at work and drop in efficiency, a common observation is that gamblers tend to steal money and engage in fraudulent behavior to recover from financial losses incurred when gambling, or to get more money to bet.
? Children of parents who are problem gamblers or gambling addicts tend to feel abandoned and angry, further increasing stress and leading to strained family relations.
? They start borrowing money and take secret loans. In spite of the losses incurred, they continue betting. They tend to stay away from their near ones, resulting in distrust between them and their loved ones.
? An Austrian study said that around 1 in 5 suicidal patients had a gambling problem.. According to the National Research Council, 10 to 17% of the children of problem gamblers have been abused and so have 25 to 50% of the partners of problems gamblers.
? Gamblers often exhibit mood swings and a strangely secretive behavior. ? People continue gambling with the greed of winning money. The addiction robs a gambler of all the productive time and leads to loss of efficiency at work. Their debt keeps building and it may reach an amount that exceeds their capacity to repay.
? The costs of treating compulsive gamblers are huge. This proves to be detrimental to their social and family life. It causes a decline in his/her work performance, thus hampering his career.
? Additionally, rehabilitation and public assistance systems are taxed.
? Problem gamblers and addicts tend to abuse their family members. It can drag you into crime, gambling isn’t fun.
? According to a study by the George State University, 50% of the problem gamblers commit crime. The addiction gets on to the gamblers to such an extent that they fail to think wisely before acting. When they lose the money they had risked, they further gamble to recover the lost amount and it becomes a vicious circle even they can’t escape from.
? Gambling can lead to criminal activities. Rehabilitating the gambling addicts needs money and time, and the process is not very easy. Their mental state can even lead to suicidal tendencies.
You could be at gunpoint or holding the gun. The stress of risking huge amounts of money or the frustration after losing it can increase the tendency of abuse in gamblers. Sports betting and arbitrage betting are the other types. Thus, gambling practices cause a huge financial burden on the families of the affected and on the society at large.
? People who fall prey to gambling tend to remain away from their families and waste money on other bad practices. A study by the same university suggested that 73% of the individuals who are imprisoned are found to be problem gamblers.
? The addiction to gambling can leave one in bankruptcy. The two go hand in hand. Betting is a mentally taxing activity, and as one goes on risking more and more money, anxiety starts building.
? Over time, the practice of gambling starts becoming a habit and begins to have damaging effects at psychological, physical, and social levels. It only leads to a thoughtless expenditure of money and valuables.
Mental and physical health problems, financial issues, and conflicts in the family are among the common negative effects of gambling

Many people have asked me over the years what the most fair casino game is, and while all of them do usually give the advantage to the house or the casino, the odds of winning that the player enjoys can actually vary quite a lot between games, and even between casinos themselves as some even field different rules of the same game from casino-to-casino, or country-to-country.
Where it becomes a little unfair is that the player cannot see the dealer’s second card, meaning they are not really sure what the dealer is holding. Anyway, I truly hope you enjoy what I have to say and hopefully you might make a dollar or two in casino winnings or casino affiliate profits!

Author’s Bio: . Because of the twin zero slots – ’0′ and ’00′ – the casino has an edge of 5.4% over the player, meaning they can expect to make around $5.4 out of every $100 spent at any American roulette table – this is why you should never play American roulette if you can help it and just stick to European roulette.
Hi, my name is David and some people say that I’m an authority on all-things relating to the world of gambling, both online and offline. I have spent literally lears of my life in casinos online and in the real-world and have so much information to share with you about all kinds of gambling as well as casino affiliate programs. The reason for this is that they both have the same amount of chances, odds and cards in order to make 21 or get as close to it as possible, meaning that the odds are about equal.
Statistically, American roulette is at the bottom of the pile being the most unfair of all casino games. Because of this the casino does have an edge over the player, however in Blackjack it is more of a psychological edge rather than a mathematical edge, as they still retain the same odds of winning or losing.
So, if you want fun you play roulette, however if you want the best chance of winning some cash, you definitely cannot go past blackjack for the odds it offers the player!
However at the top of the pile is most definitely Blackjack, with the player and the house theoretically enjoying equal odds
Look for value bets. It is only going to place you in a difficult position and as much as you might think it won’t be, your decision making ability is going to be compromised. You don’t want to lose money just because you weren’t on top of your game.
The most important thing is that you need to take emotion out of the equation. So if you suffer a bad break along the way, just remember it goes with the territory. For instance, if you are pretty certain that a side is going to win and they are getting good odds for this than take this. So do yourself a favor and swear off them. Anything less than this and it is going to be a disaster. You want to know who trained and who didn’t. Also look into how sides perform the week after doing certain travel. It’s all about accumulating winnings. Travel is a factor such as when East Coast sides travel to the West Coast and vice versa. What is the point of drowning yourself in statistics and research for what you could just as easily decided with a flip of the coin? So you need to sift through it all and just take the morsels here and there which are really important and make a difference. Thus when you are doing well, you will still be focused and when you aren’t doing so well you won’t be thinking that it’s the end of the world. You shouldn’t favor a team because they are the team your best friend supports. It could provide great insight as to predicting what will occur.
Sports betting is an easy way to make a tough living. The weather conditions also make a difference as they do in horse racing. On the flip side, you shouldn’t bet against a team because someone you don’t like roots for that team. You can’t let the highs and lows affect you too much.
In the case of team sports, injuries are important. It doesn’t matter if it is pretty or not.
Information and doing your homework is important, but you don’t want to full into the trap of information overload. You will be better off for doing so in the long run.
Speaking of the long run, this is what you should be focused on. Over time, you will learn what it should be that you should be paying attention to.
Because of this point, it is probably better if you steer clear from any matches involving the teams that you like. Upsets are always going to happen but see when it makes the most sense when to go for that and when not to. Hopefully this kind of thinking will keep you grounded. This means that when you place your bets you need to be thinking clearly and concisely. If you are going to do it you need to do it properly and master it, it means you are completely organized and focused. Business is business and you need to be concentrating on who is going to win regardless of who likes and who doesn’t like which team.

T-6. Expect him to play better this week also. Sergio had not played since the Masters. Tom Watson (1975, 1978-80) holds the record for most wins in the tournament with four. He tied for 35th last week at the Players. Jimmy Walker, Jason Dufner, Ryan Palmer – 40 to 1 odds each

3. The problem with Charl Schwartzel this week is he has not played since he missed the cut at the Masters.

T-12. He has 8 PGA wins and 11 more European Tour wins. Jordan Spieth missed the cut by a stoke last week at the Players which was his first tournament since the Masters.
